Earth has been around for nearly 4.5 billion years! And even though humans can count back generations upon generations, we are just a small blip of the Earth's History. Think of it this way... if you were to take all 4.5 billion years and put it into a calendar year (12 months), humans would only show up in the last 45 min on December 31! Most of Earth's history is spent evolving landscapes and species with mass extinctions in-between ultimately setting the scene for what we see today.
